Study
of the Word of God
The
Word of God itself states that it contains all
man needs as a guide of faith for the christian
life and for his salvation. "All Scripture
is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that
the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work." (II
Timothy 3:16)
We
believe, study and accept the entire Bible as
the inspired, only, infallible word of God, the
authoritative rule of our faith and of our behavior.
"But even if we or an angel from heaven
should preach a gospel other than the one we preached
to you, let him be eternally condemned!"
(Galatians 1:8)
We
are admonished by the apostle Paul to "..
not go behond what is written" (I
Corinthians 4:6), therefore we are to speak
where the Bible speaks and remain silent where
the Bible is silent.
"...If anyone adds anything to them, God
will add to him the plagues described in this
book; And if anyone takes words away from this
book of prophecy, God will take away from him
his share in the tree of life and in the holy
city..." (Revelation 22:19)
Christ
knew how to speak to the hearts of men, transcending
time and customs, progress and traditions. For
this reason, His word is "...living and
permanent" (I Peter 1:23),
as effective for us today as it was for the first
christians.
The
first christians "...devoted
themselves to the apostles teaching..."
(Acts
2:42); likewise
today it is important to reclaim the value of
the biblical text in order to learn how to pray,
how to live, how to love our neighbor, how to
live as a family and how to die in Christ.
The
study of the Word of God is the key of access
to knowing the Father, to a hope for eternal life
and to the laying down of a solid foundation for
our faith: "Consequently, faith comes
from hearing the message, and the message is heard
through the word of Christ." (Romans
10:17)
Jesus
tells us: "If you hold to my teaching,
you are really my disciples. Then you will know
the truth, and the truth will set you free."
(John 8:31,32). Study
of Gods word makes it possible to deepen
our understanding of the truth and to complete
our faith by putting it into practice"...you
see that a person is justified by what he does
and not by faith alone" (James
2:24)
We
invite you to attend our Bible
studies and to enroll in our
classes for a deeper understanding of the
Scriptures.
