Worship

The first day of the week, Sunday, is set aside to worship God, as the spiritual participation of the heart and mind of the christian to the truth of the gospel.

Our worship to God is simple and sober. "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24)

During the worship service, the following activities take place:

• We sing hymns to God without the aid of musical instruments; the heart is the only instrument specified by God.
• We pray to God with words that flow spontaneously from the heart, avoiding phrases and clichès that have become meaningless from repetition.
• We read and comment Bible passages, in an effort to gain useful exhortation, admonition, and encouragement.
• We take part in the death and resurrection of Jesus with the observance of the Lord's supper, eating bread and drinking wine in memory of his sacrifice.
• A donation is collected from the church members as they have purposed in their heart.
  

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another" (Hebrews 10:24,25)

We realize that one of the reasons for coming together is to feel edified and encouraged in the midst of our spiritual family. "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them". (Matthew 18:20).
